The LDx5 was created through the collaboration of two experts in their fields: master craftsman Steven W. Lewis and Dietmar Dürk.
Masterful workmanship, in combination with the finest materials and years of experience, has brought fantastic results.
The horn has a traditional design, but the concept behind its construction is innovative.
Production tools and techniques were developed in-house and specifically for this project, supporting traditional craftsmanship and ensuring the quality, consistent standard, and serial identity of each individual horn.
Careful and meticulous handling of materials during construction ensures minimal material stress, resulting in a horn that speaks freely, responds quickly, and resonates with a clear, open sound from the first note.

Pitch: A-440hz. up to 443hz possible.
Bore: 12.1 mm.
Valves: Solid yellow brass conical valves with tapered spindles.
Lever action: String action, valve change with Minibal.
Valve caps: Nickel silver.
Thumb lever: Three-dimensional adjustment.
Leadpipe: Original S.W. Lewis, nickel silver with a standard water key and engraved logo plate.
Slides: Inner and outer slides with hand lapping are made of nickel silver.
Braces: Made from the finest solid nickel-silver rods available.
Bell diameter: 310 mm.
Detachable bell: Standard.
Bell: Special bronze, for long life and durability.
Bell: Single seam bell tail with a fused spun bell. Medium bell throat like a horn. Traditional Geyer.
Possible optional finishes: Lacquered, silver-plated, gold-plated.
Other options: Dürk adjustable pinky hook, Dürk hand rest (flipper), additional water key (specify location), different bells, engraved nickel-silver bell garland (engraving available on detachable bells only)
