The Otamatone is a Japanese musical instrument invented in 1998, which started gaining popularity when it was introduced at the Tokyo Toy Fair in the summer of 2009.

The Otamatone's round base is made of rubber. Pressing its "cheeks" makes its mouth open, changing the volume and creating vibrato.
